Tamar-kali: Voices: Psychochamber Ensemble
Thursday, June 7, 2012 - 7:30pm
For over 10 years, Tamar-kali has been brewing a brilliant concoction of soul and punk that goes from powerful to gentle to sassy to smooth with her unmatched voice and unmistakable compositions. On the first night of our three-day event, we present the first of Tamar-kali's influential voices.
Psychochamber Ensemble with Special Guest Joan as Police Woman
Blending the classical music influences of her Catholic upbringing with the fire of the post-hardcore sounds that saved her. Tamar-kali weaves a sonic tapestry that will shake your foundation with soulful intensity.
Presented in partnership with the Center for Jazz Studies at Columbia University and the Columbia/Harlem Jazz Project
